About
the Project:
The
Youth Animation Project is a program for community action through
animation
involving 12 youth participants between the ages of 15 and 30.
Youth
work as a team to create animations on issues related to Youth and the
Environment, and receive training in life- and employability-skills.
QAS'
2006 program welcomes all youth, including immigrant youth,
Aboriginal
youth, street-involved youth and others who face barriers to
employment.
Core
Responsibilities
The
Project Administrator performs a variety of administrative and staff support
duties.
Assists
staff, resolves administrative problems, and prepares a range of administrative
reports and documents.
Coordinates
and performs a range of staff and/or operational support activities Schedules
and coordinates off-site tours, information sessions and/or other activities,
including the coordination of travel arrangements for the youth.
Assists
staff with project planning and development
Develops
templates for the tracking of relevant information:

attendance, participant information, receipts, etc.
���� Establishes and maintains filing systems
and records
���� Requisitions supplies
���� Performs miscellaneous job duties as
assigned

Skills & Abilities Required
���� Records Maintenance Skills
���� Word processing data entry skills
���� Organizing and coordinating skills
���� Ability to maintain calendars and schedule
appointments
���� Ability to communicate effectively, both
orally and in writing
���� Ability to gather data, compile
information and prepare reports
���� Ability to analyze and solve problems
���� Excellent team-working skills
���� Ability to relate to socially and
economically disadvantaged youth

Details:
This
position pays $15hr, working 17.5 hours/week, and runs from August
21 -
December 22nd, 2006. The position may be renewed for a second term.
