Duties include:
Attending meetings with video, arts and feminist organizations
Liaison with Core Committee and membership
Volunteer recruitment and training
Fund development (research funding opportunities, i.e. grants
& sponsorships)
Day-to-day office management in a non-profit setting
Assisiting Festival Coordinator with the festival May 2 -7,
2006
Qualifications:
Experience working in a consensus based organization
Knowledge of arts grants/fundraising - grant preparation
experience an asset
Computer skills - Microsoft Office, Access, Excel
Knowledge of the Calgary arts and feminist communities
Experience in the not-for-profit sector
Passion for Canadian women's film and video
Self-starter and ability to work independently, flexible,
responsible
Key Skills:
Excellent organizational skills - ability to set and meet
deadlines
Excellent communication skills - oral, written, listening
Ability to work independently
This is a 6 month contract position with the potential for
renewal.
15 hours/week at $15/hour, with the potential of increasing to 30
hours/week.
Start date: April 3, 2021

Event
Coordinator
Event Coordinator, herland Film &
Video Festival
Reporting to the Core and working in collaboration with the
Festival Coordinator, the Special Event Coordinator will plan,
implement and evaluate a fundraising event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and evaluate an annual event
- Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy
to promote the event and maximize herland's fundraising efforts
- Coordinate location, entertainment and event logistics
- Recruit, schedule, supervise and evaluate volunteers for the
event
- Work with Festival Coordinator to secure sponsorship for the
event
- Assist with preparing budget and keep track of budget and
event finances
- Provide periodic progress reports to the Core
- Host the special event, including set-up and clean-up
- Input donor and membership information into the database
- Evaluate success of event based on attendance and dollars
raised
- Provide a detailed report to the Core at the end of the
work-term
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the nonprofit sector
- Volunteer Management
- Fundraising
- Public Relations and/or Marketing
- Ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities,
and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work
the weekend of the event
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof
reading skills, and speaking
- Good organizational skills required, with strict attention to
details in all tasks
This position is dependent on STEP funding. The incumbent must be
returning to school in the fall.
This is a 4 month temporary position.
30 hours/week at $10-12/hour.
Start date: May 1, 2021
