OPEN TO ALL
DIRECTORS
Workshop & Information Session:

pm 4:30 pm
Westin, 10135 100th St, Edmonton, Chairman Room
FAMILY SECRETS a new documentary series produced by CBC Newsworld seeks to hire THREE directors from across Canada who can bring to the project compelling characters, strong narratives, and great access and bring to the film raw emotion, real experiences, and a sense of revelation.
Each filmmaker will direct a one-hour documentary that shows what its like to live inside, and to be a part of, a certain cultural/ethnic community. Its about getting to know our neighbours about what goes on behind invisible walls; invisible borders or the boundaries we set between communities.
There are more than a hundred ethnic groups in Canada yet in spite of all the talk about multiculturalism and diversity we know very little about them thats because we live side by side, not together each cultural enclave a world unto itself.
FAMILY SECRETS believes that in one life, one family or one communitya wealth of stories, history, and human drama wait to be revealed.
We invite you to share with us your story
Interested directors are encouraged to
attend the Workshop & Information Session to meet with the CBC program
executive-in-charge; discuss their ideas in detail; brainstorm; and get on the
